We offer a cost effective way for you, the sponsor, to make a meaningful impact on the lives of each individual recipient, and more importantly to have some control over where your money goes and how it is spent. If you sponsor underprivileged education via other non profit companies, you simply pay an amount that goes towards their global overhead without you knowing exactly how the money is allocated. Your contribution is paid into a big “pot” that is then co-mingled and allocated to various programs over which you have no control. This is a very inefficient way of managing and spending your money and offers little accountability in return, which would otherwise ensure you receive the best value for your money.
Your donation contributes towards what each student or job seeker needs per year. Your donation allows you to sponsor a student or job seeker based anywhere in the country and receive feedback on that student and know where and how your money is being spent. It comes with clearly defined deliverables and clear cut accountability in the form of knowing exactly whom you have sponsored and how they are progressing. After each year, you will receive feedback which allows you to see exactly how and where your money was spent, giving you total control and peace of mind.
If you aren’t able to, we will source suitable candidates for sponsorship and all you need do is make the sponsorship payment.
As a donor, you determine for what amount you wish to sponsor and that is allocated towards the costs of delivering either education or job creation. This includes –
As a sponsor, you would determine how many students you wished to sponsor for a twelve month period starting as soon as possible. The current cost is R 12 000 (plus VAT) per year, per student. This includes –
The standard sponsorship yearly fee includes one Portable Classroom Device (PCD) per year.
We run two academic calendars per year; the first is from January to December and the second is from August to June. A student can use either one of these calendars. Also, a student can start studying at any time during the year. Bear in mind that it is not advisable for students to wait until the start of the next academic year before commencing and they should start as soon as they are ready as the delay in waiting will cause anxiety and create massive despondency. After all, we are aiming to get young adults off the streets and studying and being productive as soon as possible. We recommend that a student starting during the year simply goes back into the last grade where they left off, i.e. if they were last in grade 8 or think they may have completed grade 8, then they should enrol for grade 8. In any event, a student’s grade can be adjusted up or down during the year based on their requirements.
The curriculum offered is the School Leaver Certificate, a curriculum uniquely designed for students that are in need of the type of solution that we offer. We also offer an optional GED (United States and South African accredited) school leaver certification. The academic content is delivered by Pocket Classrooms. See their website for more information – https://pocketclassrooms.info.
